Oil on card “The Cobb Arms, Lyme Regis”, signed.
artist: Jack Pountney (1921-1997)
The artist was fascinated by iconic ships of the mid 20th century, and along with these subjects painted many coastal scenes around Kent and the South Coast. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, and many famous institutions hold his work including The Guildhall Art Gallery. This work is a more relaxed oil showing life revolving around a pub – The Cobb Arms – still going in Lyme Regis today.
